Translating into Arabic is not just a matter of swapping words. Arabic sentences are built differently, formality matters, and the same text may need to work for readers from more than twenty countries. Our English to Arabic translators write in Arabic that reads naturally, not like a translation.

Who we translate for

  • US businesses entering or growing in Gulf and North African markets: websites, marketing, product and legal content. See business translation.
  • Government agencies, schools and nonprofits communicating with Arabic-speaking communities in the US: notices, forms, letters and outreach materials.
  • Healthcare providers producing patient information. See medical translation.
  • Individuals who need US documents (diplomas, police checks, powers of attorney) translated into Arabic for use abroad.

Modern Standard Arabic or dialect?

By default we translate into Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), the shared written language of the Arab world, used in newspapers, government and business. It's understood by educated readers everywhere. When the content is conversational and aimed at a single country, such as social posts or video scripts, we can adapt to Gulf, Levantine, Egyptian or Maghrebi usage. Learn more in our guide to Arabic dialects.

Formatting right to left

Arabic text runs right to left. Word and PowerPoint files are returned with correct right-to-left paragraph settings, and designed materials can be fully typeset by our Arabic DTP team, so you don't end up with reversed or disconnected letters.

Documents going to Arab countries

If you need a US document translated into Arabic for use in Saudi Arabia, the UAE or elsewhere, ask the receiving authority whether they accept a translation done abroad, and whether they need a notarized certificate, an apostille or embassy legalization. See our notes for Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
